Nutrition Counseling
Nutrition Counseling
I offer individualized nutrition counseling for adults who struggle with the following:
Disordered eating and eating disorders
Chronic dieting, yo-yo dieting, or dissatisfaction with weight
Emotional eating or stress eating
Digestive or gut health issues
Women’s health issues such as PCOS
Metabolic issues such as prediabetes/diabetes or metabolic syndrome
Thyroid issues
Complex symptoms related to both mental health and nutrition, such as brain fog and fatigue with depression, or IBS with anxiety
You may be a good fit working with me if:
You’ve spent years cycling through diets, food rules, or restriction, and are ready to move towards a sustainable approach to your health goals.
You are disconnected from your body cues, such as hunger and fullness, and you want to rebuild trust in yourself.
You eat to cope with stress or emotions and this often leaves you feeling guilty or stuck.
You are in recovery from an eating disorder and need gentle and structured support.
You are lost in the noise of misinformation of what it really means to nourish your body and brain.
You have challenging and confusing symptoms, like chronic bloat or stomach pain, brain fog or fatigue, and have yet to find a medical or mental solution and wonder if it’s both.
Your mental health impacts your ability to plan and execute a nutrition plan which leaves you feeling disheartened and unmotivated.
Your diet and lifestyle impacts your mental health and mood and you don’t know how to improve it.
My Approach
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in education. I want to provide you with skills, knowledge, and confidence to nourish your brain and body. I take a weight-neutral/weight-inclusive and non-diet approach that prioritizes health outcomes and sustainable behaviors over numbers. We will focus on:
Understanding your unique health history, habits, and goals
Sustainable and realistic changes
Working from an empowered and not fearful approach
What to Expect
In our first session, we will take the time to get to know the full picture. You will share your health and medical history, current eating habits, medications and supplements, lifestyle habits, and goal. From there, we will collaborate on a realistic plan that supports your goals. Some examples of session could look like:
Learning practical skills for meal planning or mindful eating
Education on nutrition topics
Challenging unhelpful beliefs about food or lifestyle
Learn about your unique nutrition situation and what will build up your brain and body fuel
Building confidence to nourish yourself
